Favorite Videos: “Very Much,” Lily Allen
Not the actual title of the song (and I’m sure more than one follower here knows that). I’m quite fond of “Guess Who, Batman,” the working title Lily had for this song when she wrote and recorded it, but I thought even the most fairweather music fan would know which song this was if I posted those two words in the actual title’s place.
One sad thing about all the environmental factors of depression and anxiety is, like the original target of Lily’s lyrics, some of them are inescapable. There are always obligations, filial connections, poisonous associations that are inherently bad for us and external factors that ensure that we cannot break from them, leaving us to hold our nose and do things we wouldn’t otherwise.
Fine.
That doesn’t mean we have to like it. We don’t have to make life easier for everyone else by pretending to either.
