Miss Martian Cross Stitch Necklace

Young Justice has become something of an obsession among my friends in the last few months. Given that, coupled with our dismay at Cartoon Network’s decision to axe it on the basis of it’s mostly female audience, I thought Miss Martian would be a great addition to the girl power line-up.

If anyone has any knowledge of a Martian or Mars-themed microbrew out there, please drop me a line in the comments. In the meantime, I thought Blue Moon would lend a touch of irony to M’gann’s necklace.

As I was tinkering with the template, the design for M’gann’s hairstyle (usually long and flat-iron straight) became something of an issue. With Leia, Diana, and Donna’s hair, illustrating length via rows of stitches at the sides also meant illustrating volume — not a problem for those characters but problematic for M’gann. So, I opted to go with the pixie crop we see her sporting in season 2 of the show.

For the trademark red X on her uniform, I alternated my cross stitches in red and white.

Very pleased with how Miss M’orzz turned out! What do you guys think?
