Raven Cross Stitch Necklace

There’s a lot to admire in Raven, also know as Rachel Roth, the half-human, half-demon member of Teen Titans. She’s intelligent, courageous, loyal to the friend who accept her. She’s worked hard to overcome her abusive past and uses meditation to help keep her (demonic) volatile emotions in check. After Starfire, she was the next logical choice in the super heroines line.

My choice for Raven’s bottle cap bezel was based more on her mood than on her planetary origin.

This marks the first time I attempted to design and stitch a hooded cape for a character. I gave it my best shot but I’m not totally happy with the effect. If I had it to do again, I might rethink the outline of the cape (as well as remember her dark eye mask).

All warts aside, once she was finished, the sight of Raven’s pendant next to Starfire made me smile. As in the canon, I think our girl greatly benefits from having a friend.

What do you guys think?
